Dating violence workshop
Previously working with Child, Youth and Families on cases involving Child Protective Services in AZ and passionately involved as an advocate with local crisis centers and shelters, she brings a wealth of information regarding the continuum of violence, specifically as it relates to victims of domestic violence. He is currently the coordinator of the All Families Matter public education campaign and coalition in New Mexico, which focuses on raising awareness and visibility about LGBT families and individuals.
She currently sits on the Intimate Partner Death Review Team which reviews facts and circumstances surrounding intimate partner and sexual violence related deaths in New Mexico and leads a statewide program which offers training and technical assistance to law enforcement, social service providers, school staff, community members and students about issues surrounding teen dating violence. He works closely with local community leaders and organizations to advance services for LGBT people in New Mexico.
The workshop leaves the participants with additional knowledge, red flags, activities and prevention strategies surrounding the issue of TDV, including DV screening/crisis call skills which they can to take back to their communities.
There is an evaluation at the end of the workshop which helps to gauge the increase in knowledge of the issue and indication if the participants will use this knowledge and/or activities within their scope of work.
96 men participated in the Men in Motion campaign and raised over ,000, indicating how crucial prevention education is and how effective our local leaders can be in combating this vicious cycle.
Human Options’ community educators strive to instill in everyone that, although teen dating violence may be an uncomfortable subject to talk about, doing whatever you feel comfortable doing to spread awareness .
You can sign up for one or both of these 3-hour workshops. This workshop discusses some different types of dating violence including, but not limited to, emotional and physical abuse, birth control sabotage, reproductive coercion, digital dating abuse and domestic minor sex trafficking.
All Families Matter is about opening hearts and minds throughout our state.Parents were urged to be leaders in their families by modeling healthy relationships, and were taught skills in intervening, should they ever suspect teen dating violence occurring in their home or the home of peers.
